No-Fear Fashionistas and Promotions

Have you ever noticed that when it comes to style, true fashionistas have no fear? They are willing to take big risks, mix up some plaid with polka dots, and even toss in some stripes just for fun. They wear their hair big, aren’t afraid of even the loudest of colors, and never, never shy away from, shall we say, “very large” accessories. And, somewhat to my chagrin, more often than not the risk pays off.

Fashionistas are brave, much braver than me and probably braver than most of you apparel-minded distributor salespeople. While finding that kind of bravery may not be in the cards for most of us, it doesn’t mean that mustering up the courage to present unconventional promotions or products to clients isn’t worth the effort. Here are some examples of crazy promotions that I feel certain any apparel distributor could have somehow gotten in on:

And just in case you don’t feel like clicking through, no worries, I’ll share the basic gist. As I am certain you already know, the goal of any “crazy” promotion is to get increased brand exposure in a fun way. But the real nugget to take from all of this is that salespeople and business owners—just like our wild-haired fashionistas—must be fearless and willing to take some calculated risks.

While fear is often useful in some situations (like buying half-price sushi), we should never let it inhibit us from our creativity, our ability to take chances or our desire to wear our hair really big if we want. So get out the hot rollers, hair spray and start channeling your inner fashionista.
